I love bingsoo. Love, love, love it! I will eat it all year round. What is there not to like about it? It’s shaved ice, ice cream, and whatever else you can dream up on top. Luckily, for me I have a built in partner in crime. Lately, she has been sick of eating bingsoo so we haven’t gone in a few weeks.
I frequent the restaurant Sulbing since it is right across the street from my house and their bingsoo is delicious! And the best part of all they are open until 1a.m. Not like the 24hrs they claim. LIARS! This was very disappointing one night when I wanted to eat it. The staff has changed a bit too. Sometimes the staff is ready to take my order and other times they stare at their coworker and you can see the slight fear of talking with the foreigner. I just order in Korean when I go in and they give a sigh of relief. The funniest part was for the longest time there was one worker who would be called from the back to talk to me and my friend in English. Each time she came she would explain how to eat bingsoo. I politely listened, but thought don’t you remember me? I know how to eat this. Don’t you worry.
So let the food porn begin.
All of them are delicious! But these are the ones I eat the most often at this place. I didn’t like the chocolate one as it was too chocolately for me. I really like all of the rest though. I feel healthy eating the strawberry one, but I feel that is really just a figment of my imagination. At least, I no longer pour the condensed milk on top! Now on to try new flavor of bingsoo!
